The Sony and Carlotta blu-rays sound the same -- awful. Really really bad. Most ambient sound (insects, etc.) has been completely wiped out and everything sounds like it's underwater. The Japanese Kinokuniya DVD sounds good, though.
The older Sino Movie DVD sounds poor; it's sourced from a higher generation print.
It's worth noting that the visual restoration is similarly flawed. Heavy automatic scratch removal has removed things like rain and birds in the sky, and the image sometimes has a waxy (but not technically DVNR, probably) look to it. The colour grading was also done more haphazardly than it was for the other restored Hou films.
