North by Northwest (1959)

The 5.1 has some intense noise reduction throughout, as well as some very gimmicky panning going on in the crop duster sequence. It is an actual remix, though. The original mono mix has never been released on blu-ray or DVD, but was available on both the MGM and Criterion LaserDiscs. The MGM has Herrmann’s score in the opening credits in stereo, though, but the Criterion LD track is entirely mono (and sounds very, very good).
