1995 Columbia TriStar LaserDisc [59206]: Ticks and pops persist throughout, but not nearly enough to be intrusive
or annoying. Everything sounds a bit fuller and less tinny than on the blu-rays. The opening music sounds poor. There's an annoying 100 Hz hum throughout that can be removed.
2000 R1 Columbia TriStar DVD: Like the LaserDisc, but with the high end slightly rolled off.
2017 Criterion Blu-ray: Some further EQ (a sizeable treble boost) and NR atop the old Chace transfer. Shrill and the mids have been sucked out, leaving dialogue sounding tinny.
2024 Sony Blu-ray: A new mastering. More detailed and natural than the Criterion blu-ray, but still bright relative to the LaserDisc. The noise gate used is slightly too strong, making the few quiet moments sound a bit dead.
8/25/2024: Added the Columbia TriStar DVD and Sony UHD
