The Asphalt Jungle (1950)

1993 MGM LaserDisc [ML100483]: This sounds very good. No apparent hiss reduction, plenty of clarity, great bass extension. It's not necessarily the cleanest track around (ticks and pops are present subtly throughout), but all the later editions do is globally cut high frequencies.

2004 R1 Warner DVD: Extreme noise reduction. This sounds very muffled. 

2016 Criterion Blu-ray: Less noise reduction than the Warner DVD, but still quite a bit. Seven sequences with music have less NR, though they still have an unpleasant EQ.
