Mono -
1989 Criterion LaserDisc [CC1180L]: A fair bit of hiss reduction. It retains less high-frequency detail than the ≥2018 releases, but all sound under 8 kHz is more naturally EQed.
1992 MGM LaserDisc [ML102699]: The best sounding track among these by some margin, but still a bit overly noise-managed. The transfer I have is riddled with digital clicks throughout the first half, so you might hear some in the clip below (though I removed a few).
2000 R2 MGM DVD: Like the '92 MGM LaserDisc but with worse EQ - a slight treble boost.
2018 Criterion Blu-ray: More high-frequency detail than the Criterion LaserDisc, but worse EQ.
2022 Kino Lorber UHD Blu-ray: The same mastering as the 2018 Criterion blu-ray.
2025 Criterion UHD Blu-ray: Identical to the 2018 Criterion blu-ray.
I'd like to hear the 1984 CBS/Fox Hi-Fi VHS.
