Dr. No (1962)

The original mono track was evidently mixed very hot - lots of distortion in the more 'exciting' scenes. But it seems the original elements weren't available for the remixing process, because the 5.1 simply sounds like a neutered version of the mono, with all the 'excitement' of the upper frequencies (whatever was there in the first place, anyway) further attenuated.

I bet the LaserDisc sounds significantly better.
