How Green Was My Valley (1941)

The 5.1 mix is definitely a real (discrete) mix, and it's not terrible. Granted, the only thing actually separated to the surround channels is the music--which is certainly too loud at times--and the ambient water sounds in the mine scene at the end. But it is at least a discrete mix.

The mono mix also included on the Fox blu-ray sounds more balanced -- the music no longer overwhelms the dialogue or narration. It's also free of the recurrent damage affecting the music in the 5.1 mix.
