The Criterion DVD sounds very good, although it's a bit bass-anaemic. There are some transfer-related artefacts visible in its spectrals that aren't audible on playback. The second half of the film is about 7.1 dB too quiet.
Criterion's blu-ray is significantly more muffled than their DVD.
The Arrow blu-ray is the most veiled, but no high-frequency content is truly missing - it's merely de-emphasised. It can be EQ-matched to the Criterion DVD (while retaining its deeper sub-100 Hz bass detail) with some EQ. I used: -0.3 dB at 1520 Hz, q 0.7; +4.1 dB at 8540 Hz, q 0.6; +1.7 dB at 9240 Hz, q 1.4. The audiovisual sync of the Arrow blu-ray is better than the Criterion blu-ray's.
