The Criterion DVD and blu-ray sound similar, the DVD being slightly less veiled.
The Dutch Moskwood Media DVD (no doubt comparable to the Tartan DVD, as both were probably sourced from the same Svensk Filmindustri-supplied master) has less hiss reduction than either and sounds better.
