Mildred Pierce (1945)

1990 MGM LaserDisc: Good - clear, if a bit thin, but detailed. It's not free of noise management (I'm curious what the earlier CBS/Fox VHS and LaserDisc sound like), but all the dialogue here sounds the most natural among these releases.

2003 R1 Warner DVD: More noise reduction and considerable bass accentuation.

2017 Criterion Blu-ray: Like the DVD EQed even more warmly (significant) and with some rumble attenuation (insignificant). The distortion on the LD is gone, but so is a good deal of clarity and it all sounds a bit 'smoothed over'.
